The Politico -- Huckabee rankles some on the right, but is he the true fiscal conservative? Politico columnist Roger Simon looks at the opposition from some on the right to former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee's presidential bid. Those critics accuse him of not being committed to low taxes, a charge Huckabee disputes. Simon did some calculations and figures that judging from their ratings in the new University of Iowa Hawkeye Poll, Republican Mitt Romney has spent $1.48 million for every percentage point of support and Republican Rudy Giuliani has spent $2.34 million (Simon based those numbers on the campaigns' total spending, not just what they've invested in Iowa.) Huckabee has spent $133,000 per percentage point. "So," Simon asks, "who is the biggest fiscal conservative?"
